RE: water pressure regulators??

I was in a CG somewhere in Wyoming the office informed us, DO NOT HOOK UP their water if you did not have a regulator. Their water was at 120 psi.

RE: water pressure regulators??

yep water pressures vary from place top place greatly. I have found that IF I crack open a campground faucet momentarily each time just before connecting my hose, one gets so you can tell if their pressure is extreme. Besides IF you connect using a regulater (preset) and don't get pressure/volume enough, simply go out and take it off!! Also IF one connects a regulator at the faucet not at the trailer then you are insureing that your hose will stay ok also. using a Y fitting at the faucet lets you relieve pressure too.

RE: trailer hitch

SURE people tow small trailers behind 5th wheels and I can't help ya but have seen many configurations. there is EVEN a mfg'd one wheel trailer that is able to haul a honda gold wing on it. NICE part of them is you CAN back the 5th wheel with it attached. look around on the internet there are links to them. they attach with 2 hitch balls.

RE: Winterize

Wow Ron, Small world or what !!! I live maybe 3 blocks east of OLD Ben ! or about that far straight west of the Tranny plant, same street! retired from DE I might add that I have winterized each winter since 03 and till recently had not heard of pressing in the check valve at the city water connection. THIS time I am going to see what happens. must just have lucked out in the past. fortunatly as in the past mine will not be winterized long! Not needed in the Rio Grande Valley hehehe!

RE: Winterize

Oh I see now its an 07 well it should Have a bypass at the water heater and at the pump both! one needs to turn the valve (bypass) at the water heater, (indoors), drain the water heater (out doors)at bottom of it). a valve with a cap on it at the inlet of the pump, turn that valve 90 degrees, attach small hose, likly supplyed, where that cap is/was. put hose in antifreeze jug and run pump. open one faucet at a time till anti freeze come out. do that to all where water would come out. My cougar 285 only needs one gallon but one needs say half a cup in all the sink traps/drains also. your only need for more antifreeze is to stock up on a good price. IF you already have a bunch of antifreeze in the water heater. you might want to not waste it and just bypass the water heater this time. Hope I have not left you totally confused.

RE: Winterize

Bob, first off you need NOT fill the water heater with antifreeze and that sounds like where your antifreeze went! these days the water heater also should have a by pass. ONE gallon of antifreeze should have been enough. by the way how old is your trailer

RE: To all 5ver drivers, a ? 4 U.

THE only real reason to have 4X4 is the resale value. and that resale value is because so many think they have to have it, that it jacked the trade in value sky high! other wise you would be much better off with out all that extra weight of all that machinery under there when towing!! Yes I have had 3 4X4's ! actually a 1/2 ton 2wd will do the work of a 3/4ton 4x4 if it had a lil more suspension. yes I tow with AWD but only because it was part of the over all package. I'd rather do with out it and get better milage!! Now more than ever!! I would not/willnot part with my Quadrasteer feature!!

RE: Living in a 5er in Ohio

I predict you will have to give up the idea once you have been in Ohio, and start trying to stay comfortable in ANY RV, and cold weather! winter of 06/07 we were doing some of the winter in the Rio Grande Valley we used 6 30# lp tanks and temps were a lot in the 40's BUT it was BETTER than the winter UP here. to do all needed to do the winter UP here will cause the thing in 2 yrs not worth towing back to Texas and use it more. Why? Interior Moisture that you must not be aware of YET!

RE: is block foam insulation better than the pink stuff ??

BUT!!!! the R value styrofoam of is surprisingly LITTLE!! 2" of foam board only has a R value of 2 maybe 3 where 6" fiberglas (can be compacted) has a R value of maybe 13. I always had assumed it'd be the other way around but found out different!! If you get water in where there is the pink stuff and its styrofoam instead, what have ya got?? kinda like saying I'd rather have aluminum it don't rust!! but it darn sure corrodes!! take your RV down to S. Padre Island or Key West for a month then tell me what ya got! The materials all have their own advantages I reckon! AND BumpyRoad, LOOK at how simular our maps are!!! seems we might ought to have "crossed paths" some where along the way!!
